Curriculum Breakdown

Love of Allah and His Messenger

Love is the primary engine of the soul. Loving Allah and His Messenger (ﷺ) more than anything else is the secret to a life of joy and devotion.

Introduction

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "None of you will truly believe until I am more beloved to him than his father, his son, and all of mankind." (Bukhari). This is not an emotional feeling but a preference of the heart and will.

Nurturing Divine Love

Love is built on knowledge. To love Allah, we must know His Names and Attributes, and see His Mercy in everything. To love the Prophet (ﷺ), we must study his life (Seerah).

Signs of Love

True love leads to following (Ittiba'). "Say: If you love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you..." (3:31).

"O Allah, if I worship You for fear of Hell, burn me in Hell; if I worship You in hope of Paradise, exclude me from Paradise; but if I worship You for Your own sake, grudge me not Your everlasting beauty."

Rabia al-Adawiyya

Modern Applications

  • Make time for "Date with the Divine"—quiet time for Dhikr and Dua every day.

  • Read a page of the Seerah (Prophetic biography) daily to build a personal relationship with the Messenger (ﷺ).

  • Prioritize Divine commands over social trends or personal whims as a proof of love.

Critical Reflection

  • If I had to choose between a Sunnah and a social convenience, which one would I pick?

  • Do I feel a "longing" for Allah and His Messenger (ﷺ)?

  • What is the thing I love most in this world, and does it compete with my love for Allah?
