Islamic Ethics & Character • Lesson 4.2
Curriculum Breakdown
Truthfulness
Truthfulness is the foundation of trust and the primary characteristic of the believer.
Introduction
Sidq is not just telling the truth; it is living the truth—being honest with Allah, with oneself, and with others in both speech and action.
Quranic Foundation
"O you who have believed, fear Allah and be with those who are true." (9:119).
The Path of Truth
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise." (Bukhari). Conversely, lying leads to wickedness.
"Truthfulness is a trust (Amanah), and lying is a betrayal (Khiyanah)."
Abu Bakr as-Siddiq
