Islamic Ethics & Character • Lesson 4.11
Curriculum Breakdown

Social Responsibility

The believer is not an island; they are part of a body that feels the pain of every other part.

Introduction

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "The best of people are those who are most beneficial to people." (Tabarani). Faith must translate into service.

Enjoining Good and Forbidding Evil

This is a collective duty (Fard Kifayah). It means being an active participant in improving the society and preventing harm.

Community Service

Helping neighbors, caring for the environment, and contributing to the development of the community are all forms of Ibadah.

"One who remains safe from the harm of his tongue and hands is a true Muslim."

The Prophet (ﷺ)

Modern Applications

  • Volunteer your time or skills for a local cause.

  • Be active in your neighborhood—know your neighbors and help them when possible.

  • Use your platform (social media, business) to highlight and solve social issues.

Critical Reflection

  • What benefit am I bringing to my community?

  • Do I only care about my own salvation, or do I care about others' well-being too?

  • How can I use my unique talents to serve the Ummah?
