Islamic Ethics & Character • Lesson 4.1
Curriculum Breakdown
The Prophetic Character
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) was sent as a mercy to all creation and as the perfect model for the peak of human character.
Introduction
Character (Akhlaq) is the core of religion. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "I was only sent to perfect noble character." (Malik). This indicates that the goal of all worship is to manifest beauty in one's behavior.
Quranic Foundation
"And indeed, you are of a great moral character." (68:4). This Divine testimonial establishes the Messenger (ﷺ) as the ultimate benchmark for ethics.
The Elements of Character
Noble character consists of traits like honesty, patience, humility, and courage. It is not just about avoiding bad habits, but actively cultivating good ones.
"The heaviest thing in the Balance on the Day of Judgment is good character."
The Prophet (ﷺ)

Prioritize personal integrity over winning an argument.
