Daily Life of a Muslim • Lesson 1.7
Curriculum Breakdown
Family Time and Responsibilities
The family is the building block of society. Honoring family ties and fulfilling roles at home is a major path to Paradise.
Introduction
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "The best of you are those who are best to their families." (Tirmidhi). Islam places immense value on the rights of parents, spouses, and children.
Quranic Foundation
"And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment..." (17:23)
The Home as an Oasis
A Muslim home should be a place of Peace (Sakina), Love (Mawadda), and Mercy (Rahma). This requires patience, service, and mutual respect.
Fulfilling Rights
Each family member has specific rights. Fathers must provide and protect, mothers nurture and educate, and children honor and obey within the bounds of faith.
"Paradise lies at the feet of your mother."
The Prophet (ﷺ)
